Our beautiful manager Nicole was married in Port Douglas this month,

 we all went up to join in the celebrations.

Want to know how to create the "high bun" look? Its Easy!

Step One: Start with a high smooth ponytail, curled or straightened
Step Two: Using the teasing brush, gently backcomb the ponytail to create a textured, messy style.
Step Three: Move the expanded ponytail around the crown of your head, creating a circular shape.
Step Four: using the same coloured bobby pins as your hair, secure the bun by pining around the base, finish with hairspray!

Unite Exposed!

A few weeks ago 'UNITE Exposed' travelled to Brisbane to showcase new trends to the industry's finest! It was a fantastic night, and a wonderful experience for our stylist Brooke - who was lucky enough to work backstage with the team from America! This night was full of avant-garde up styles and structured haircuts that can be easily adapted to suit any client. A BIG thanks to Andrew Dale, Steve De Lorenzo and David Fletcher for teaching us these amazing new techniques!

Happy ten years to us...

We just celebrated our 10 year anniversary.

We had the most wonderful party last weekend, filled with beautiful clients, wonderful staff, all our families and great food!!

Thank you to everyone who came along to support us, I will upload photos when they arrive back from the photographer.

Unite colour training

 

We were very excited to host Unite's Blonde colouring training workshop...

Last Monday 24 hairdressers from Brisbane visited our salon to do a workshop.

"Gary" Unite's brilliant colour tec, traveled up from Sydney for this training.

The day was on blonde colour.

We learnt a lot of new ideas, colour formulas, creative ideas, and ways to make all blonde hair look beautiful.

 

 

Helping out Rachel...

 

 

Our very beautiful client Rachel is moving to Africa next week, to help feed and care for orphans when I heard her story I knew that I wanted to help....

We had a fundraiser in the salon, it was a really fun afternoon and we did raise some extra funds to help her and her family.

Adam Noble & behind scenes....

Back in March this year, our salon girls were asked to help Adam Noble (one of Australia's well known hairdressers) they helped him prepare models colours, blow - drys and makeup before he did a show in Brisbane.

It was an amazing day, our girls walked away with new insights into doing hair....

 

The show Adam put on that evening was awesome!

We  came back into the salon with new cutting and colouring techniques, which we have been using in salon.

Brooke & Tonya were also models for the evening...

Our amazing week.....

Last week we had a awesome week in the salon...

Our new stylist Tonya started, we all attend the most incredible course on communication with Antony Whitaker whom has won Australian Hairdresser of the year many times.

He taught us how to be better at our craft simply by listening, he shared tools on how to make you our clients 100% happy all of the time.

Today Brooke and Tonya have gone up the coast for a very exciting cutting workshop with Adam Noble, he is also a Australian Hairdresser of the year.

 

 

 

 

It is almost a one to one workshop.

He will be teaching the girls how to perfect their cutting skills!!

 He will also share his knowledge on how he cuts hair, and also how to design a hairstyle that suits your face shape, hair texture and lifestyle!
