We've had a exciting week......

This week has been a wonderful week, for our team!

Lisa has been in Melbourne, attending a 3 day "business school" with Antony Whitaker.

She has returned with wonderful, fresh ideas on how to run our salon, and make the experience in the salon better for you.

The rest of our team spent Monday with "Adam Noble" 5 x Australian hairdresser of the year!

He owns a salon in Canberra called Next.

The girls learnt up to date haircutting techniques, and inspiration from a brilliant hairdresser.

Colour training.....

Yesterday we attended a very inspiring colour course!

Vadre Grigsby flew into Australia from the states, to teach us up to date colour techniques, and creative colour combinations.

She was awesome!

She gave us such wonderful fresh ideas that we will start using in the salon today!

Vadre has been hairdressing for 22 yrs, and also owns her own salon. She is pravana's (our colour company) master colourist and is at the front edge of what is happening in salon and on the street! (With hair)

A few of my clients have been asking how Ruby is?

She is wonderful, nearly 14 months old and is so much fun to be around.

I thought I'd share a cute photo with you.....

We are pleased to announce that we now only use and recommend premium haircare free of questionable chemicals used in many mainstream cosmetics and haircare products.

Our move has been made to address health and safety concerns for our business, our staff and most importantly for the wellbeing of our valued customers.

All the products that we use, and recommend are free from......

PARABENS - cheap preservatives that mimic oestrogen, linked to endocrine disruption.

SULPHATES - harsh detergents that damage the cuticle and cause skin irritation.

SODIUM CHLORIDE - salt like bulking agents used to give a more luxurious texture to creams and lotions, and also known for their drying, corrosive properties.

Rest assured that our products are not only safer to use, but also provide superior performance and results over ordinary products.

Awards night

We were very excited, proud and humbled to have been nominated in the Business Achiever Awards.

We made it into the top 3 salons of our area, and were over the moon!

Friday the 18 of November we all dressed up, and headed off to the awards.

We had a wonderful night.

Even though we didn't come home with a trophy, we had fun.

Thank you our anonymous client who nominated us.

Lisa is back

It is wonderful to be back at work, and so many of you have said you've loved seeing Ruby on this blog so I thought I'd add a couple more photos.

She is 6 months old now and getting very mobile! Won't be long and she will be crawling!

I'm working in the salon on Tues 9 - 12, Wed 10 - 3 and Fri 1 - 4.

Lisa's coming back...

Hi everyone, I'm coming back to work three 1/2 days a week starting on the 7th of June.

I will be working Tue 9 - 12, wed 10 - 3 and Friday 1 - 4.

If you are wanting to meet Ruby, Dean brings her down through out the day so that I can feed her. You may just meet her whilst getting your hair done.

I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Coloured hair needs oil!

Argon oil in not only great for your scalp, it also acts as a barrier between your hair colour and anything that will dry it out.
eg hairdryer, sun, chlorine, air conditioner and straightening irons!

Make your foils last longer!

Foils can be tricky to maintain, if you are starting to see your regrowth growing through.

Spray on some dry shampoo and smudge it into your roots, it helps to hide it!

Darker hair colour adds volume!

Lighter hair colour can make your hair look thinner, because the light passes straight through it.

Adding darker foils or going one or two shades darker will cause your hair cuticles to swell, making your hair appear thicker.

Autumn is the perfect time to go darker!
